MXPX187 -

It seems you have done what you can do, and all that is left to wait upon the Lord.  That is what the prophet Habakkuk did following his complaint to God (2:1).  While you are waiting in faith, be attuned to the different ways He may choose to speak.  I won't repeat some of the means others have expressed, only that He has often spoken to me in ways I did not expect.

Re: Hearing God

Just as Byron just wrote, I have the same "ponderings"...  I wonder if His voice sounds different than I am expecting.  I find myself longing to hear Him and just the other day I was enjoying the beauty of red roses.  All of a sudden a phrase, "behold the beauty of the Lord" came to mind (from a prayer I had been praying that morning) and I wondered is this His voice!  The beauty of the roses...  the whispered reminder of words I said to Him earlier.  It wasn't what I "expected", nor maybe the end road, to be sure; but, maybe His voice into my life.  Maybe, MXPX187, He is speaking in different ways than you can see now---  I wonder the same for myself.  I want to keep my eyes, ears and heart open to His voice maybe in a different language!  I don't usually notice creationg (not natural to my personality) and so this was not my "language"--- but I think I heard it none the less.  Just a thought.

Re: Hearing God

I do think that we, as Christians, may overuse the "God said", or "God spoke to me" and we need to be more careful--- maybe more reverant in using such words.  On the other hand, I feel I must look keenly and daily for these "God said" moments in my personal life in order to strengthen my ability to hear...  I loved Dillard's book on "Hearing God" when he talks about learning God's "tone of voice".  That is what I am going for!  Lord, teach me your voice.
